I was so excited on Daffodil Day (Friday 29 August) this year to be part of a project the Cancer Society is planning for next year’s Daffodil Day which marks the 20th anniversary of the annual fundraising event. The Cancer Society sought NZIPP qualified photographers to volunteer their time to capture images for a book which will be released next year. I was more than happy to donate my time to such a worthy cause.
I was assigned to photograph a wonderful volunteer by the name of Debbie. Debbie has a career in banking but is a regular gives her time as a volunteer for the Cancer Society. She has a very friendly nature and made it very easy for me to capture wonderful pictures of her throughout the day. It was a pleasure to meet her and share in some of her time spent on this worthwhile cause. We were based in Featherston St and then Lambton Quay so it was a busy day with lots of foot traffic and therefore funds to collect.
Unfortunately I can’t share my photos with you until next year, but encourage you all to keep an eye out for the book and join with me in supporting such a great cause.
