No matter how well a photographer prepares before the wedding day, the one thing they just can’t control is the weather! Matt and Jodie chose a beautiful venue (Lodge at the Inlet) and they made a beautiful couple. However, it was pouring down, combined with a Wellington southerly wind. This meant the outdoor photos we’d planned were initially off the agenda. Never fear though, we managed to take some beautiful shots inside and luckily, the weather cleared just in time to take a few shots outside later. This is one of the advantages of a good professional photographer; the ability to capture amazing photos, no matter what the light/weather conditions are.
The bride, groom and guests all looked beautiful and celebrated a wonderful and happy occasion that Matt and Jodie will cherish the memory of. It was a pleasure to be a part of; congratulations to you both!

One of our lucky winning couples from the Wellington Spring Wedding Show recently had their free pre-wedding photo shoot. I enjoyed an afternoon with Gavin and Megan who are getting ready for their big day in April 2010. A little nervous at first, the happy couple didn’t take long to relax in front of the camera and we got some great shots. All the best for the wedding plans Gavin and Megan – it will be a wonderful day.

Possibly the most rewarding compliments I receive are from other professional photographers. The chance to enter various photography competitions during the year gives me a valuable opportunity for their feedback and this year has been very successful for me. My entries in the creative and wedding categories of the 2009 NZ Institute of Professional Photographers (NZIPP) Competition both won me bronze awards. More recently I won a gold award in the portrait section of the 2009 Kodak Gold Awards. I am very happy with these achievements, particularly as they are spread across a range of photography types (wedding, creative and portrait). As one of my customers, you can be confident I offer only the highest level of photographic skill and quality.
